Marbella
Located between Malaga and Algeciras, Marbella is the most fashionable and upscale resort on the Costa del Sol, with beautiful long beaches and every facility for shopping and entertainment. It was known as a favourite haunt of the jet set until the mid-1980’s when it became exposed to mass tourism, innumerable hotels, and many unfinished buildings. Since 1991, however, a well-respected property developer from Madrid, Gil y Gil was made Mayor and has been restoring Marbella’s former reputation as a top quality resort. Located only 40 minutes from Malaga airport, Marbella is surrounded by mountains and sea and benefits from a special microclimate that makes it one of the most pleasant climates in Southern Europe during the winter. Puerto Banus, located 6 km from the town centre of Marbella, is an upscale marina and major nightlife destination. Recently, due to rapid development west of Malaga in places like Torremolinos and Fuengirola, local councils have been made aware of the ecological havoc which can happen if proper building controls are not put in place. In recent years, controls on building in Andalucia have become more stringent.

Marbella is close to major cities and legendary cultural centres: Malaga, Granada, Seville and via the port of Algeciras almost borders with Africa. The town could not be more accessible both by road and by air (Malaga and Gibraltar airports) or even by boat from the prestigious harbour complexes. * Iberia *Aireuropa *Spanair *Renfe *Málaga Airport. Chilches
It is true to say that most of the development in Spain has occurred due west of Malaga towards Marbella. Chilches (part of the Costa del Sol, Province of Andalucia) is due east of Malaga. It is in an enclave between a major city Malaga (As aforementioned 30 minutes away by car) and a very well know tourist centre Nerja which lies to the East.

This area is a good location to purchase a holiday or pension home. While the location is ideal for people flying over from the UK, the area is relatively undeveloped. Recently, due to rapid development west of Malaga in places like Torremolinos and Fuengirola local councils have been made aware of the ecological havoc which can happen if proper building controls are not put in place. In recent years, controls on building in Andalucia have become more stringent.

Chilches is one of those towns, characterized by the hospitality and gentle nature of its people, with art and culture, where time does not seem to fly by, where calm and peace prevails. It is far away from the big and crazy cities very close to pleasant tourist centres such as: Nerja, a town with celebrated and beautiful coves; Granada, with its Moorish monuments such as Alhambra and Generalife; Seville, world known because of its festival Semana Santa and Cordoba impressive Mezquita. This small Andaluzia town is between the mountain and the sea (just 2km away); sandy beaches where one can sunbathe and swim or just observe beautiful sunrises with fishing boats coming back with their catch, surrounded by hundreds of seagulls. It is located in Malaga
